In our skin, new cells at the base of the epidermis move upward, die
and become flat, dry scales. These dead cells are gradually shed. The
soft, smooth appearance of the skin is dependent upon the lipids and
water present in our skin. The shedding of dead cells slows down as
we age. Accumulation of dead cells could make the skin look dull, dry,
wrinkled, and brown colored.

Normal skin is balanced. It is
warm and moist with even pigmentation; it is harmonized. Normal skin
has occasional tendencies to become out-of-balance, such as oily, cyclical
breakouts, or combination skin.
|
|
Oily Skin has the tendency to
secrete excessive oil. This may result to acne or enlarged pores.
|
Dry skin is flaky, peeling, and
tight. It has lost the ability to retain moisture.
|
Sensitive skin is usually irritated,
allergic, even red and inflamed.
|
Problem skin includes congested
pores, enlarged pores, poor circulation, blemished skin, and acne.
|
As the body ages, collagen and
elastin sysnthesis decreases and the tissues in the dermal and subcutaneous
layers become thinner and lines and wrinkles of face and neck gradually
occur. Sagging occurs with aging, because muscles slowly become smaller
and weaker and lose their tone.
The
effect of aging is accumulative, gradually shows in the thirties, and
accelerates in the forties. Early measures are the best ways to prevent
premature aging and to delay the natural aging process. Such measures
include a healthy diet, sun protection, and very importantly, persistent
skin care. The Skin Therapy product line is your best tool for treating
acne, preventing breakouts, removing dark spots, and preventing and
reversing aging changes.
